March Library Happenings
The following is a list of some events happening at our county libraries in March 2023.
Middleton Library programs:
- Basic Chair Yoga for Arthritis: Wednesday, March 1, 15, and 29, 2023, at 12 p.m. Our Hardeman county Extension Agent, Iama Price, will be with us to continue her Basic Chair Yoga instruction. The classes will last one hour.
- STEM Class With Kasi: Thursday, March 9, 2023, at 4 p.m. Kids! We will have fun activities using S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics). Kasi will do hands-on learning with participants. It’s going to be so much fun!! And it’s all free! Ages 6-13 Activities for March: Learn with LEGO WeDo and make a craft with recycled materials for Earth Day.
- Book Club for Adults: Friday, March 10, 2023, at 1 p.m. This month’s Book Club Pick: The Midnight Library by Matt Heig. Copies of the book will be available for checkout at the library. (The group meets monthly; second Friday of every month)
- Basic Gardening Classes: Thursday March 16 and 23, 2023, at 12 p.m. Lee Sammons, our UT Extension Agent, will be with us to teach beginner gardening skills. We will be learning to garden in our new raised beds, made possible by a generous Be More Hardeman County grant! Please sign up at the Middleton Library or call 376-0680 for more information.
- Preschool Storytime: Thursday, March 16, 2023, at 1 p.m. Join us for Storytime for Preschoolers! We will be reading spring and gardening stories and we’ll have fun activities plus treats! Kids will also get to plant a seed to take home so they can watch it grow!
- Family Movie Day: Saturday, March 18, 2023, at 11 a.m. Come One, Come All! We’ll be watching Puss In Boots: The Last Wish in our library’s new addition! We’ll provide popcorn and drinks and it’s all free!
- Crafternoon for Adults: Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at 1 p.m. Come and Craft Together! This month we will have Maerene Webb with us to teach basic crochet. **You will need to bring a G or H size needle and some regular 4-ply yarn.**Don’t want to crochet? Then bring your favorite craft and craft with others! Do you scrapbook? Make jewelry? Teach others your craft or just come to be together with other crafters.
Bolivar-Hardeman Library programs:
- Brown Bag Book Club will meet on March 13, 2023 at 12 p.m. The book is Run, Rose, Run by Dolly Parton and James Patterson.
- Teen Book Club Book will meet on March 7, 2023, at 3:30 p.m. The book is We Were Kings by Court Stevens.
- Sassy Seniors will be rock painting on March 14, 2023, and will also meet on March 28, 2023.
- Story time on March 2 and 16, 2023, includes Ms. Hannah reading a great book and we’ll have fun activities and treats!
Grand Junction Library programs:
- The GED program meets every Wednesday at the library at 12:30 p.m. Call the library at (731) 764-2716 for more information.
- The Grand Junction Library has had donations of hand sanitizer wipes and also home COVID tests. While supplies last, they are handing these out to the community. Simply stop in the library and pick them up.
- The Library is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., and Wednesdays and Fridays from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
