Mark E. Davidson was sworn in as District Attorney General for the 25th Judicial District on Friday, August 26, 2022. Circuit Court Judge Blake Neill administered the Oath of Office.
Davidson was appointed in September 2017 to succeed then District Attorney Mike Dunavant for the remainder of his term when he was confirmed to be United States Attorney for the Western District of Tennessee. In the August 2018 General Election, Davidson was elected to serve the remaining four years of Dunavant’s eight year term. Davidson ran unopposed in the August 2022 election and will now be serving his second term in office.
“It is an honor and privilege to serve as your DA, and I feel so fortunate to be serving the citizens of Fayette, Hardeman, Lauderdale, McNairy and Tipton counties.” Davidson said, “I’m also so thankful for my wonderful family, everyone who voted and all of the support we have in our communities. We have great law enforcement in our district, despite the challenges they face, and that’s a testament to the support they get from our citizens and our local and state governments. Please continue to support your law enforcement.”
