Mary Poppins Brings High Flying Fun and Song Favorites to the HCAC Stage

Did you hear the news! The Hardeman County Arts Council (HCAC) is bringing Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s Mary Poppins to its stage Friday through Sunday, June 6 – 8, 2025. That’s “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” (extraordinarily good) in every way, with song favorites like “A Spoonful of Sugar”, “Step in Time”, “Let’s Go Fly a Kite”, and, of course, “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious”.

Mary Poppins brings one of the largest casts to the HCAC stage from children to adults. This high-flying musical adventure includes many returning actors formerly seen on the HCAC stage with Abigail Richards, who previously appeared as Fiona in Shrek The Musical Jr. and Elsa in Disney Frozen Jr., as Mary Poppins; Braden Foster, who appeared as Donkey in Shrek the Musical JR., as Bert; Julie Bell, who previously appeared in The Little Mermaid, JR., as Winifred Banks; and Jeff Shackelford, who appeared in the Smoke on the Mountain series of plays, as George Banks.

Other cast members seen in previous production include Adeline Estes, Amanda Estes, Mollie Estes, Lilly Gist, Daylin Hopkins, Annabelle Hubbard, Jonah James, Jordan James, Phillip McMahan, Rhonda Moore, Tucker Mullen, Ron Pirtle, Brier Pulse, Kandy Shackelford, Katelyn Wellons, Janace Wood, and Vernon Wood. Those making their debut on the HCAC stage include Naomi Gibson, Olive Gibson, Olivia Hinrichs, Haley Hysmith, Tonya James, Jane Middleton, and Bruno, who will be running around on four legs.

Tickets are $15 each and on sale online on the HCAC website, and in person at the HCAC box office {1580 West Market Street, in Bolivar} on Thursday, June 5, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Friday and Saturday, June 6 -7, 2025, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday, June 8, 2025, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. You may also purchase tickets by calling the box office at (731) 658-2787 during those hours.
