Grand Junction Mayor Curtis Lane won his bid for re-election and will now begin serving his fifth term as mayor. He received 96 of the 151 votes cast in the Grand Junction mayor’s race. Lane was challenged in the November 8 election by mayoral candidate Nakita L. Prewitt, who extended her congratulations to Lane after the election.

“Congratulations to Mayor Lane. Thank you to all who voted and to those that supported my campaign,” said Prewitt.

Mayor Lane says he is “looking forward to the next four years” and mentioned several projects that are in the works including a new walking trail and disc golf at the Grand Junction City Park, renovations at Grand Junction High School Memorial Park, and several water and sewer related construction projects.

Lane wants to remind citizens that he has an open door policy and welcomes citizens to stop by city hall anytime with concerns or questions. Mayor Lane also plans to establish quarterly town hall meetings.
