A Season to Remember: Middleton Lady Tigers Volleyball Finish with Pride

The energy was high in the gym on Thursday, October 16, 2025, as the Middleton High School Lady Tigers volleyball team played at home in the substate game against the Union City High School Golden Tornadoes. Although the night brought an official close of the 2025 season for the team, which lost 3-2 sets, the Lady Tigers fought hard until the final game point.
The MHS Lady Tigers began the week playing at home in the regional tournament against Freedom Preparatory Academy Eagles. They beat the Eagles in 3-0. That set the Lady Tigers up to play Middle College High School the following evening which beat Booker T. Washington High School in their regional game towards the championship title. Unfortunately, Middle College had to forfeit the championship regional game, so the teams were not able to play. It would have been somewhat of a rematch after the District 15A championship in which the Lady Tigers were runners-up. As a result, the Lady Tigers were named regional champions.

The Lady Tigers won two sets (1st, 25-18 and 4th, 25-22) and the Lady Tornadoes (2nd, 25-21; 3rd, 26-24, and 5th, 15-10) won three sets. It was a tough and disappointing blow for senior Morgan Russell who went out with an ankle injury in the beginning of the fifth set. She remained on the sidelines until the end of the game in support of her teammates.
The MHS Lady Tigers volleyball team played a great season. Their Tiger Pride showed excellent on the court. Well done Lady Tigers volleyball!
