All three girls have been familiar athletes on the volleyball court over the past years playing on both the middle school and high school teams. Lester has played for seven seasons, Mills has played six seasons, and Woods has played eight season all under the coaching of Zeke Craft. Lester and Woods have played volleyball consistently during their school years, and Mills returned for the 2022 season to play her senior year.

The girls were escorted by their family onto the court for the ceremony, where they were joined by their fellow teammates. Several teammates shared their memories of playing with these girls and it was evident all three will be missed. Each senior also had some words of advice to share with the teammates they were leaving behind.

“Don’t take it for granted,” said Lester.

“Shut up and pass the ball,” said Mills all in fun about what to do when they get the ball.

“Work hard, play together, and have fun. Ball out,” said Woods.

All three athletes plan to continue their education at Jackson State Community College (JSCC). After attending JSCC, Lester will transfer to Middle Tennessee State University to pursue a career in social work. Mills will attend JSCC to pursue a career in nursing. Woods plans to transfer to Middle Tennessee State University to pursue a career in athletic training, after attending JSCC.
