Middleton’s Madison Doyle Named Class of 2024 Valedictorian
Middleton High School (MHS) held its graduation on Thursday, May 16, 2024, to recognize its 2024 graduates, and among them was Madison Doyle, the valedictorian of her class. Madison can remember at a young age being encouraged by her parents, Stan and Carla Doyle, to always do her best academically. They reminded her that it may not always be convenient, but that the effort would pay off in the long run, and it did.
“I’m so blessed to be valedictorian of my graduating class. It’s comforting to know that all the years I took classes during the summers, and late nights studying and writing papers, actually paid off. There were times throughout my academic journey that were difficult, but it was definitely worth the hard work and determination that was put into it,” said Madison who also gave praise to her peers, some who were recognized along with Madison as the Top 10 of MHS. “However, I realize that many other students also worked hard and deserve recognition for their accomplishments.”
“We are so proud of Madison and all she has achieved. She has worked extremely hard throughout her years of elementary and high school and has always made us proud. She’s very determined and realistic when it comes to setting goals,” said Mr. and Mrs. Doyle. “We pray that she continues to stay focused and work hard. We feel confident that she can do anything she sets her mind to do in life.”
Although academics was a primary focus for Madison, she did also participate in extracurriculars over her high school years. She was a member of the MHS Beta Club, MHS HOSA (2023-2024 President), MHS Tennis Team, Lifeline Blood Donation Team, and the MHS Emergency Response Team. Some of her fondest memories from those activities include attendance at Beta and HOSA conventions.
“Beta and HOSA conventions were amazing though. These trips gave us opportunities to grow as individuals, travel to new places, and strengthen friendships,” said Madison who also shared about one special teacher who has made an impactful impression on her life. “My mom (who is also my teacher) has made a large impact on my life.”
Madison is the youngest sibling to her brothers, Ethan and Dillion. She credits much of her success to the guidance and encouragement she has received from her mother on campus and at home, along with that from her father.
“My family has always been supportive and helped me stay focused. They have always encouraged me to do my best and reminded me that success isn’t just given to you, you have to earn it,” said Madison. “My parents have always encouraged me to pray and put God first.”
As Madison prepares for the next step in her life, she leaves with excitement for her future, but also a school that holds fond memories and people who have become friends . . . family.
“I will miss the small, closeness of Middleton High School. We are almost like a large family. Growing up living and attending school at Middleton since kindergarten, I have made strong connections I hope to continue throughout my life,” said Madison.
Madison cherishes the friendships she has made with her peers, faculty, and staff while at MHS, and is most thankful for her relationship with God, whom she recognizes is responsible for the person she has become. She hopes the legacy she leaves is reflective of Him in her life.
“I hope to leave a legacy of the importance of hard work and faith. We need to strive to do our best in everything we do but also trust in God and pray that He’ll lead us down the path He wants us to go. I hope people remember how hard I worked, but I also want them to know that I couldn’t have done anything without God guiding me and helping me through each day,” said Madison, who shared a bit of wisdom with students of future MHS graduating classes. “Don’t take the easy path in your academic journey. Take the extra classes and take advantage of every opportunity you are given. Just because you live in a small town, you can still have big dreams and excel in life.’
Madison plans to heed her own advice as she prepares to leave for college to attend the University of Tennessee at Martin where she will pursue a degree in nursing. Leading strongly in her faith, Madison will have the continued support of her parents who shared some words of how proud they are of their daughter.
“We are so proud of you and the beautiful young lady you have become. We always knew you could do anything you set your mind to do. This accomplishment reflects your passion, hard work, and dedication,” said Stan and Carla Doyle. “We pray that you always ask God for guidance and never underestimate your abilities. You are a blessing to all of us, and words cannot express how much we love you and how proud we are of you.
