Obituary: Barbara Ann Landreth
Barbara Ann Landreth, 74, of Silerton, departed this life Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at Bolivar General Hospital.
Barbara Ann was born in WaKeeney, Kansas and moved here with her parents, the late Lloyd and Virginia Siler Desbein, when she was a small girl. She worked as a patient accounts supervisor at Western Mental Health Institute in Bolivar until her retirement.
She was united in marriage to Mr. Philip Landreth in December 1993 and was a member of Woodville Baptist Church. In her leisure time, she enjoyed watching movies, sports (especially UT football) and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was affectionately known to her family as the “Boss”.
In addition to her husband of almost 32 years, she leaves two sons, Josh (Crystal) Carter and Justin Carter; stepdaughter, Nicole Floyd; sisters, Susanne Denton and Sandra (Woody) Waller; seven grandchildren, Kelsey Ross, Alexis Woods, Kaleb Carter, Landon Whirley, Kadence Floyd, and Christiana and Isabella Carter; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Patricia “Tricky” Korn.
Services were held at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Bolivar on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at 1 p.m. with the burial at Mars Hill Cemetery.
