Barbara Ann Snyder ~ February 25, 1933 – July 8, 2023 (age 90)
Barbara Ann Snyder, beloved wife, mother and grandmother was called home by her Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at the age of 90. Mrs.
Snyder was born February 25, 1933, in Whiteville, Tennessee to Elbert and Brookie Sammons.
As a junior girl, during a Vacation Bible School, Mrs. Snyder accepted Christ as her Savior. She has been a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church for 52
years. Mrs. Snyder loved people, so the job as church secretary fit her perfectly for over 40 years. Mrs. Snyder was involved in many ministries of the church that included Sunday school teacher (45 years), jail ministry, college dorm mom (20 years), as well as in the nursery and choir ministry. Mrs. Snyder loved her family. She especially loved spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also known as “Granny” to her church family.
Church services will be at Bethel Baptist Church in Walls, Mississippi, on Friday, July 14, 2023, at 10 a.m. Graveside services will be at the Melrose Cemetery on Friday, July 14, 2023, at 1 p.m. Shackelford Funeral Directors of Bolivar were in charge of professional arrangements.
Mrs. Snyder was preceded in death by her parents, Elbert Sammons and Brookie Bach; her husband, Warren Snyder; and her sisters, Jean Story and Mary Jo Snyder. She is survived by a sister, Ann Marie Canale; a son, Tim Snyder; a daughter, Kim Westmoreland; five grandchildren, Lisa Zwasta, Heather Sexton, Michael
Snyder, Jason Snyder, and Ryan Westmoreland; and six great-grandchildren.
