Obituary: Beatrice Crouse

Beatrice Crouse ~ June 28, 1940 – February 15, 2025 (age 84)

Mrs. Beatrice Crouse, 84, of Bethel Springs, departed this life on Saturday night, February 15, 2025, at Pine Meadows Healthcare in Bolivar. She was the widow of Mr. Charles Lindberg “Tom” Crouse, whom she married on May 18, 1957. Mr. Crouse passed away following 53 years of marriage on March 23, 2011.

Born in Bethel Springs, Tennessee near Rose Creek, Mrs. Crouse was the daughter of the late George Washington Dickey and Elmer Louise McDaniel Dickey. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, David Wayne Crouse, and seven sisters and brothers.

Mrs. Crouse was a homemaker and member of Hornsby Baptist Church. Having lived all of her life in McNairy and Hardeman Counties, she was a lover of plants, gardening, and was especially fond of spending time with her family, who described her as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and homemaker.

Graveside services will be at Mt. Gilead Cemetery on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 2 p.m. in McNairy County. Shackelford Funeral Directors of Bolivar is in charge of professional arrangements.

She leaves a son, Charles Lynn Crouse (Kristine Murphy) of Springfield, Missouri; three sisters, Willie Mae Graves of Hickory Valley, Virgie Frances McDonald of Memphis, and Cherly McCormick of Roger Springs; five grandchildren, Timothy Wayne Crouse, Anthony Lewis Crouse (Holley), Sallie Marie Crouse, Haily Dawn Crouse, and Esther Crouse; and three great-grandchildren, Cole Michael Crouse, Dylan Crouse, and Caleb Brown.

Memorials may be sent to either Hornsby Baptist Church or Mt. Gilead Cemetery Association.
