Obituary: Bill Ray Ingram

Billy Ingram ~ February 6, 1964 ~ October 4, 2022 (age 58)

Billy Ray Ingram, was born in Jackson, Tennessee on February 6, 1964, to his proud parents, Dorothy Ingram Glenn and the late William Ingram. He was the youngest of five children.

His memorial service was held on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Jermaine Shaw in charge. Burial was in the church cemetery and Dixie Funeral Home was in charge of the professional service. 

Billy Ray accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and joined Johnson Grove Baptist Church in Jackson and later joined Antioch Baptist Church where he served as a faithful member.

He was educated in the Madison County School system and graduated from West High School In 1982. Billy Ray then attended Tennessee State University where he was a star player of the football team. He was employed with the Tennessee College Of Applied Technology in Memphis, Tennessee with a love for teaching and a passion for trucking. He was a CDL Instructor for approximately 10 years. Shortly after, Billy was employed with Estes Express Lines of Jackson, Tennessee.

All of his “hard work” paid off and his dreams finally came true. Billy purchased his own semi-truck where he was owner/operator and leased through T. Cooks Trucking Company.

He was a proud member of The Victoria Lodge #53 Prince Hall. He Loved everything about being a PHA Mason.

Billy Ray married the love of his life, Pamela Jo Woods Ingram, whom he affectionately called “My Little Wife” on November 16, 1998. He and Pam had a collaborative and caring relationship. It was based on mutual support and a deep love for each other.

There was nothing Billy Ray liked better than an interesting conversation with a good friend. Billy Ray could have an engaging conversation with anyone. He was the true definition of a family man and was committed to his family. Billy Ray loved his wife, mother, children, family, and friends dearly but, his grandchildren were the center of his heart.

Billy departed his life here on earth on Tuesday October 4, 2022. He was proceeded in death by his father, William Ingram; stepfather, Laudell Glenn; father-In-law, Ned Woods; two brother in-laws, Malcom Ivie and Vincent Price; two sister-in-laws, Jeanette Giles and Lictoria Woods. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving devoted wife, Pamela Ingram; three sons, Corey Savage, Andre(Zandrea) Givens, and Chadmon Ingram; two daughters, Para (Charles) Hill and Brianca (Cortney) Johnson; mother, Dorothy Ingram Glenn; mother-in-law, Lucille (Jesse) Rhodes; four sisters, Debbie (Alfred) Hill, Dorothy (Tommy) Cox, Brenda Price, and Mary Ivie; sister-in-laws, Cheryl (Connie) Talley, Celestine (James) Jones, and Felicia Rhodes; brother in-laws, Larry (Joann) Morgan, Michael Bills, Reginald (Patricia) Rhodes, Calvin (Tiffany) Rhodes, and Gregory Giles; nine grandchildren, Camari Ingram, Jakeyln Hill, Jaiden Hill, Tehya Kelly, Jarel Savage, Landon Johnson, Londyn Johnson, Tayden Chism, and Jaliah Turner; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
