Obituary: Bonnie Ann Howell

Bonnie Ann Howell ~ November 6, 1934 – October 22, 2023 (age 88)

Bonnie Ann Howell, a beloved homemaker and housewife, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 22, 2023, at her home in Middleton, Tennessee. She was born on November 6, 1934, in Hardeman County, Tennessee. Bonnie will be remembered for her unwavering dedication to her family and her warm-hearted nature.

Church services will be held at Brints Chapel Baptist Church on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at 3 p.m. with burial in the Brints Chapel Cemetery. Shackelford Funeral Directors of Bolivar is in charge of professional arrangements.

Bonnie was an incredibly loving mother who adored her family. She found joy in being surrounded by her loved ones and cherished all the precious moments spent together. Bonnie’s hobbies included fishing and gardening; these activities brought her immense happiness throughout her life. She also had a passion for playing board games and always showed great enthusiasm during friendly competitions with friends and family.

Bonnie had a deep connection with her church family at Central Baptist Church and treasured the time she spent with them. Her faith was an integral part of her life, providing her strength and solace. Bonnie’s love for travel was notably expressed through her numerous trips to the Smoky Mountains. The breathtaking scenery and peaceful atmosphere held a special place in her heart.

Bonnie will be deeply missed by those who had the pleasure of knowing her. She is survived by a loving family, including her daughters Carolyn McKee (Wayne) of Forest, Mississippi, Sarah Zeboski (John) of Bolivar, and Becky White (Cavin) of Middleton; sons Jerry Howell (Diane) of Jackson, Dwade Howell (Debra) of Middleton, and Jimmy Howell of Middleton; eleven grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Preceding Bonnie in death were her father and mother, Issac Carl Stewart Alma Louise Scott Stewart; and husband, Brother Orville Howell, whom she married on February 17, 1951; brothers, Glenn Stewart and Prentice Stewart; sister, Irene Stewart; grandchildren, Amanda Cossar Dent and Justin Cossar; and a granddaughter in law, Kristy Howell.

During this time of grief, let us remember Bonnie for the joy she brought into our lives. Her kind spirit, love for family, and strong faith will forever be cherished. She has left behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire generations to come. Memorial contributions in her name may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
