Obituary: Bonnie Lucille King
Bonnie Lucille King, 84, of Toone, departed her earthy life on Saturday morning, May 11, 2024, at her home in Toone.
She was born in Fayette County on Thursday, August 24, 1939, to the late Raymond Roy “Bill” Glover and Mamie Lucille Clutts Glover and lived all of her life in Hardeman County. On May 26, 1956, she married Billy J. King. Their union lasted over 40 years until Mr. King passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 1997.
Mrs. King worked at Western Mental Health Institute for over 30 years as a psychiatric technician and was a member of Dixie Hills Baptist Church. An avid reader, she enjoyed cooking, tending her flowers, and even doing a little bit of ‘shade tree’ mechanic work. She enjoyed watching the Hallmark Channel, The Price is Right, The Bold and The Beautiful, Fire Country, and the “One Chicago” family of shows. Above all, she held her family and faith closest to her heart.
Graveside services will be at Bolivar Memorial Cemetery on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at 11 a.m. Shackelford Funeral Directors of Bolivar is in charge of professional arrangements.
She is survived by a daughter, Billie Gwen Ragain of Casa Grande, Arizona; a son, Michael King (Kathy) of Toone; grandchildren, Chase King (Kaitlyn) of Medon, Samantha Sarnowski (Chadwick) of Casa Grande, Arizona, and Sara Jane Ragain of London, England; and great-grandchildren, Madden and Mason King.
Memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee.
