Obituary: Brenda Kaye Owens Sullivan
Brenda Kaye Owens Sullivan ~ June 9, 1948 – May 29, 2023
Brenda Kaye Owens Sullivan was born June 9, 1948, at Methodist Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. She passed away in her home in Jackson, Tennessee receiving hospice care (as was her wish). She leaves her grieving children, Michael and Michelle Sullivan (Robert Gouge) of Cottontown, Tennessee; her sister, Cyndi Owens Langhans, of Hickory Valley, Tennessee; and brother, Jim Owens (Ivy) long time Tupelo, Mississippi resident.
Preceding her in death, were her parents, Jim and “Gladdy” Owens of Jackson, Tennessee; and grandparents, Winfred and “Cricket” Owens of Oak Ridge, Tennessee (previously Memphis) and Howard and Edie Martin of Baltimore, Maryland.
Brenda was a happy child who enjoyed Girl Scouts and ballet and tap dance. She was a former member of the Rainbow for Girls, Woodlawn Assembly #19 in Memphis and an active member of Grimes Memorial United Methodist. Brenda previously worked in healthcare in Virginia Beach and the VA hospital in Seattle. She was an employee of Belk after moving to Jackson, Tennessee to be near her parents.
Brenda will be sorely missed by her family. It is our wish to hold a private memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be sent to her favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the charity of your choice.
