Cathy “Cat” Graves ~ June 15, 1960 – June 12, 2023 (age 62)

Cathy “Cat” Graves, 62, of Horn Lake, Mississippi, passed from this life Monday, June 12, 2023, in Whiteville, Tennessee.

She was born Wednesday, June 15, 1960, in Fayette County, daughter of the late Richard Lee Graves, Jr., and Mildred Louise Connor Graves, living in Horn Lake, Mississippi most of her life, prior to moving back to Hardeman County two weeks ago. She worked for Fed-Ex for 25 years prior to becoming disabled in September of 2022. Ms. Graves enjoyed visiting with her friends, most of whom she had for 45 years. She traveled extensively and loved to take pictures of old barns and flowers. More than anything, she loved coming home to her family and having ‘get-togethers’. Her family states she ‘loved everybody and never had a bad word to say about anyone.’ She was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church.

Services were held at the Shackelford Funeral Home chapel in Bolivar on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at 11 a.m. with burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.

Survivors include three sisters, Diane Bradford (Robert) of Cordova, Janet Herron of Whiteville, and Sherry Long of Whiteville; three brothers, Donnie Graves (Diane) of Stanton, Glenn Graves (Bonita) of Hornsby, and Timothy Graves of Toone; and her nieces, Angie Hoffman and Leeann Smith, both of Whiteville.

Memorial contributions in her name may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance.
