Obituary: Charles F. Hill
Charles F. Hill, 85, of Toone, departed this life on Wednesday morning, February 28, 2024, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Mr. Hill was a native and life-long resident of Hardeman County, the son of the late Willie and Nannie Young Hill. He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy Scott; a sister, Barbara Dorris; a brother, Gary Hill; grandson, Jonathan Wilbanks; and the mother of his children, Dorothy Warren Hill.
He was a retired truck driver, having driven last for Huttig, and was a diesel mechanic. Mr. Hill served his country for three years in the U.S. Marine Corps and, in his younger years, attended Ebenezer Baptist Church. A self-described “jack-of-all-trades”, he loved his pet cats.
Services will be held at Shackelford Funeral Home in Bolivar on Monday, March 4, 2024, at 3 p.m.
Survivors include two daughters, Charlene Stanfield of Toone and Julie (Michael) Roberts of Corinth; a son, David (Rhonda) Hill of Pocahontas; a brother, Terry (Peggy) Hill of Bolivar; seven grandchildren, Keith Hill, Brian Stanfield, Tiffany Stanfield, David Hill, Jr., Davina Hill, Michael Hill, and Latasha Green; step-grandchild, Melissa Kelly; and his wife, Lisa Hill of Toone.
Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
