Obituary: Chester Lee Kimp

Chester Lee Kimp ~ July 9, 1951 – December 12, 2024 (age 73)

On July 9, 1951, God blessed the union of June and Linnie Kimp with a baby boy they lovingly called Chester Lee.

His funeral service will be held at May’s Hill Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday December 21, 2024, at 1 p.m. with Reverend Rucker in charge. The burial will be in the church cemetery and Dixie Funeral Home is in charge of the professional service.

Chester was educated in the Fayette County School System. He accepted Christ as his personal savior at an early age. Chester rededicated his life at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, and later moved his membership to Mays Hill Missionary Baptist Church where he served until his health declined.

On May 1, 1971, Chester was united in Holy Matrimony to Alberta Morrow. He worked various jobs through out his life, but the job he enjoyed the most was working as a well man at Frost Well Systems for over 40 years.

Chester leaves to cherish his memories one daughter, Katie (Johnny) Fuller of Michigan City, Mississippi; two granddaughters, Asha Kimp of Hickory Valley and Akata Fuller of Bolivar; five great grandchildren, Aden, Ariel, Aliyah all of Hickory Valley, and Johnavan and Averi both of Bolivar; two sons, Carry Scott of Grand Junction and Lashun Mitchell of Toone: one sister, Waydean Blake of Memphis, Tennessee; three sister-in-laws, Martha Walton of Hickory Valley, and Bessie Mitchell and Veronica (Willie Lee) Morrow of Jackson, Tennessee; one brother-in-law, Larry (Jessie) Clark of Memphis, Tennessee; and a host of family and friends who will miss him dearly.
