Obituary: Connie Sue Jacobs Cornelius

Connie Sue Jacobs Cornelius, 73, passed from this life Sunday, May 4, 2025, at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.
She was born in Bolivar on March 4, 1952, to the late Henry Gordon Jacobs and Mary Ettie Brumbelow Jacobs. Other relatives who preceded her in death would be two sisters, Virginia Miller and Dorothy McCollum; and a brother, Henry Edward Jacobs.
Connie lived in Springfield, Tennessee for 39 years where she worked as benefits coordinator for the USW (United Steel Workers) Benefit Fund. She previously worked at Dover Elevators and in banking. Returning to live in Middleton two years ago, she was attending the Pocahontas Baptist Church at the time of her passing. In her leisure time, Connie enjoyed cooking, attending and supporting her grandchildren’s athletic events and especially, she loved any time spent near and with her family. In her younger years, she was active coaching her daughter’s softball games and playing tennis.
Services will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at the Shackelford Funeral Home chapel at 1 p.m. in Middleton with the burial in the Eureka Cemetery in Pocahontas. Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday at Shackelford Funeral Home in Middleton.
She is survived by her daughter, Angie Cornelius Ross and husband, Lynn, of Cedar Hill, Tennessee; her son, Bill Cornelius and wife, Amanda, of Middleton; her fiancé, Del Vitale of Middleton; her twin sister, Bonnie Veach of Middleton; grandchildren, Taylor Ross and wife, Gabby, Caleb Cornelius, and Brody Cornelius; and a great-granddaughter, Charlie Jo Ross.
Memorials may be sent to Leukemia and Lymphoma Foundation.
