Dolly Alice Merryman ~ June 20, 1942 – September 23, 2023 (age 81)
Dolly Alice Merryman, 81, of Hernando, Mississippi, passed away on September 23, 2023. She was born on June 20, 1942, in Rockmart, Georgia, to the late Guy Lester Rogers and Dolly Theresa Rogers (Ashley). Alice, also known as Dolly, was a strong woman of faith, fearless, and a dedicated artist.
Church services will be held at Harmony Baptist Church on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at 12 p.m. in Walnut, Mississippi with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, after 10:30 a.m. Shackelford Funeral Directors of Bolivar is in charge of professional arrangements.
Surviving members are her brother, Richard Rogers of Collierville, Tennessee; her children, Paul Pulliam of Saulsbury, Tennessee and, Guy Pulliam of Olive Branch, Mississippi; daughter-in-laws, Pattie Pulliam of Olive Branch, Mississippi and Lisa Pulliam Taylor of Memphis/Galveston, Texas; grandchildren, Landry Pulliam of Weatherford, Texas, Cliff Laney Pulliam of Houston, Texas, Matt Pulliam, Parker Pulliam and Luke Pulliam of Olive Branch, Mississippi; and a great-grandchild Cliff Lee Pulliam of Houston, Texas.
She was preceded in death by husbands, Philip Pulliam of Walnut, Mississippi, and James Murray Merryman, Sr. of Memphis, Tennessee; her sister, Anise Rogers Landman and her son, Cliff Wayne Pulliam of Memphis/Houston, Texas.
The family asks memorials may be sent to St Jude Hospital or a charitable organization of their choice.
