Obituary: Dora Annette Howell
Dora Annette Howell was born in Hardeman County, Tennessee on August 24, 1949, to parents E.C. and Opal Ledford. She passed from this earthy life on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at the age of 75 years, eight months, and eight days.
She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ms. Howell enjoyed cooking and taking care of others. She was a devoted member of Brint’s Chapel Baptist Church in Middleton, Tennessee for many, many years. Ms. Howell was always willing to give a helping hand with all the activities at her church. She was a devoted and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Ms. Howell leaves behind cherished memories and a legacy of love that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Ms. Howell leaves behind to cherish her memory, three sons, Brian Howell, Tommy Howell, and Terry Howell (Peggy); one daughter, Judy Laughlin (Leon); five grandchildren, Davey McDonald, Cody Howell, Shelby Quillen, Emma Howel,l and Ellie Cate Howell; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, E.C. and Opal Ledford; her husband, Donald Ray Howell; grandson, Ben McDonald; granddaughter, Monica McDonald; and three sisters all from Middleton, Tennessee, Betty Kirk, Florence Kirk, and Edna Vickers.
Services will be held at Brint’s Chapel Baptist Church on Friday, April 11, 2025, at 12 p.m. with interment in Brint’s Chapel Cemetery. Shackelford Funeral Directors of Bolivar is in charge of professional arrangements. Memorials may be sent to Brint’s Chapel Cemetery.
