Obituary: Dorothy Frances Tucker Wilbanks

Dorothy Frances Tucker Wilbanks ~ June 21, 1943 – June 29, 2024 (age 80)

A Celebration of Life service for Dorothy Frances Tucker Wilbanks, 80 of Walnut, Mississippi, will be held at Reaves Methodist Church (110 Church Lane Middleton, Tennessee) on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 5 p.m. A private graveside service for the family will follow. Visitation will be at Reaves Methodist Church from 3 p.m. until service time. Reverend Jonathan Wilbanks and Reverend Tim Dixon will officiate the service.

Mrs. Wilbanks passed from this life on Friday, June 14, 2024, at 5:25 p.m. at Magnolia Regional Hospital. She was born on June 21, 1943, in Middleton, Tennessee to the late U.T. “Bill” Tucker and Willie Mynatt Tucker. Mrs. Wilbanks attended Middleton High School and received her certificate in Home Economics in Nashville. She was a sewing machine operator for many years.

Dorothy married Bobby Joe Wilbanks on July 20, 1960. They went on to have three children. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, crocheting, gardening, and spending time with her family. Mrs. Wilbanks is survived by two daughters, Sherilyn Wardlow (Johnny) and Tanya Roberson (Eric); one sister, Debbie Frost (John Giles); two brothers, David Tucker (Peggy) and Richard Tucker (Vicky); four grandchildren, Billy Carter (Nicole), Brandy Luna (Jeremy), Timothy Hopper ,and Hanna Jones (Clint); four great grandchildren, Zadie Gaillard (Rob), Preston Luna, and Madilyn Carter and Waylon Carter; one great great-grandchild, Kinsley Gaillard and expecting one great great-grandson, Grayson Gaillard; one daughter-in-law, Paula Wilbanks Devore; a brother-in-law, Harold Holder; a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, U.T. and Willie Tucker; her husband, Bobby Joe Wilbanks: a son, Michael Wilbanks; and two sisters, Rebecca Applegate and Betty Holder.
