Glen Watkins, Jr. (age 58)
Glen Watkins, Jr., 58, of Saulsbury, passed away Friday evening, February 17, 2023, at his home in Saulsbury.
Mr. Watkins was born Friday, December 4, 1964, in Bolivar, to Bobbie Jean Lambert Watkins, who survives, and the late Glen Allen Watkins, Sr., living most of his life here. He worked in New Albany, Mississippi for Albany Industries for about 12 years, for Ashley Furniture, and most recently was a loader driver for Howell and Sons Lumber in Bolivar.
He loved to cook, watching many cooking shows and re-creating the dishes and also enjoyed watching anything to do with “Bigfoot”. An avid music person, he most enjoyed talking to and listening to his children. Mr. Watkins was Baptist in faith.
Services were at the Shackelford Funeral Home chapel in Bolivar on Sunday, February 19, 2023, at 3 p.m. with Ricky Watkins officiating.
Survivors include his three daughters, Amanda Watkins (Josh) of Harrisburg, Illinois, Summer Watkins of Saulsbury, and Destiny Watkins of Lafayette, Mississippi; four sons, Brent Allen Watkins of Pontotoc, Mississippi, Jeremy Coghlan (Jennifer) of West Union, Mississippi, Joshua Harbour, and Jason Coghlan, both of Myrtle, Mississippi; his mother, Bobbie Jean Watkins, of Saulsbury; a sister, Sheila Watkins Mayes (Marc), of Saulsbury; a brother, Billy Joe Watkins (Michelle), of Saulsbury; and five grandchildren, Ryan, Aliyah, Kaitlynn, Karabeth, and Waylon. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Tammy Renee’ Watkins.
