Obituary: Henderson “Henry” Wiggins

Henderson “Henry” Wiggins (age 83)

Mr. Wiggins was born in Bolivar, the son of the late Charlie Austin Wiggins and Willie Smith Wiggins. He passed from this life Saturday, February 18, 2023, at his
home in Jackson.

After spending his early years in Bolivar, Mr. Wiggins lived in Jackson, at two different times, for a total of 25 years. He also lived 15 years on the river in Holladay, Tennessee. Mr. Wiggins married Johnnie Denniston on May 7, 1983, and worked as a claims adjustor for State Farm Insurance until his retirement. He also had been service manager at Frank Brasher Buick in Jackson and was former co-owner (with his brother, Edwin) of Wiggins Collision Service. Mr. Wiggins’ entire
working career was spent in the automotive field.

Mr. Wiggins was raised in the Pentecostal faith. He loved river life, house boating, pontooning, cooking on his grill, going to the grocery store, and was
an enthusiastic supporter of the University of Tennessee Volunteers. He especially enjoyed family gatherings and time spent with his pet dogs.

Services for Henderson “Henry” Wiggins, 83, of Jackson, were held in the Shackelford Chapel in Bolivar on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at 2 p.m. with burial
in the Wiggins Cemetery. Visitation was on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

He leaves his wife of 40 years, Johnnie Wiggins of Jackson; his beloved fur babies, Otis, Cami, and Maggie Mae; two daughters, Shannon Renee Hoefling (Guy), and Sherry LeeAnn Wiggins, both of Jackson; two brothers, Edwin Brint Wiggins (Dottie) and Donald Albert Wiggins (Jerlene), both of Bolivar; three grandchildren, Stephen, Ty, and Trey Hoefling, all of Jackson; and three great-grandchildren, Amelia, Xander, and Nova Hoefling.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Charlene Morris, Bernice Vaughan, Althea Sipes, and Jetta Rose Knight; and brothers, Neely and Vernon Wiggins.

Memorials may be sent to Hardeman County Adoptable Animals.
