Obituary: James Connie Dodd – Bolivar, Tennessee
Mr. James Connie Dodd, age 84, Bolivar, passed away Friday, October 14, 2022, at The Arbors at Heritage Place in Lexington.
A native of Silerton, Tennessee, he was the son of the late James Enlow and Dorris Ellouise Brown Dodd and lived most of his life in Hardeman County. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a great-great-grandchild, James Christopher King of Savannah; a sister, Ella Mae Brown of Bolivar; and a brother, Billy Wayne Dodd of Toone.
Mr. Dodd was a heavy equipment operator for Calvin Elder Logging for 25 years. He also worked for Sykes Automotive and Tractor. For over 20 years, he had farmed and supervised the dairy barn for the late Jimmy Lee Chambers. A Southern Baptist in belief, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and making people laugh. He was a hard-working man who loved to raise watermelons and spend time with all his grandchildren.

He is survived by two sons, James MIchael Dodd of Selmer and Rickey Dale Dodd of Marion, Illinois; one sister, Norma Jean Anthony (Gus) of Collierville; one brother, Dorris Lemond Dodd (Carolyn) of Collierville; four grandchildren, Jacqueline Susann Wilson of Selmer, Marylouise Ellen Kanavel (Matt) of Michie, Logan Dale Dodd of Chicago, Illinois and, Morgan Brooke Tanner (Jadin) of Belleville, Illinois; four great-grandchildren, Jacob Lane King of Hornsby, Emmaline Elise Wilson of Selmer, Damion Abbot of Selmer and, Jamie Amelia Abbott of Michie; and one great-great-grandchild, Karson Allen Abbott.
