Obituary: Jerry Cordell Knight – Bolivar, Tennessee

Mr. Jerry Cordell Knight departed this life on Friday evening, August 12, 2022 at Baptist Hospital in Memphis.

The son of the late Paul and Jettie Rose Wiggins Knight, he was a native and life-long resident of Bolivar. Mr. Knight was a retired maintenance man for Archer-Daniels-Midland and a Vietnam veteran having served in the U.S. Army from 1967 -1 970. He was Baptist in belief and, in previous years, was active in jail ministry work. In his leisure time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with family, and telling stories. He never met a stranger and loved to make other people laugh.

He leaves his wife of 26 years, Alice Moore Knight of Bolivar; daughters, Kim Troung of Tomball, Texas and Christina (Dall) Parks of Henderson; son, Tony (DeAnna) Knight of Bethel Springs; step-daughter, Candy Walton of Middleton; step-sons, Billy Walton of Middleton and Brett Ryan of Bolivar; sisters, Linda (Roger) Brown of Medina and Betty (Don) Baker of Bolivar; brother, Thomas Knight of Jackson; 10 grandchildren, Uyen Troung, Bao Troung, and Lamp Troung, Morgan Parks and Aubrey Parks, Sara Pipkin and Jesse Pipkin, Sabrina Satas, Michael Main, and Tiffany Whitehead; and several great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at Shackelford Funeral Directors on Thursday, August 18,2022, at 2 p.m. with interment at Cave Springs Cemetery in Henderson, Tennessee.

Mr. Knight was preceded in death by his parents; step-son, Terry Ryan; sisters, Rachel Ann Knight and Jennifer Renee Knight; and brothers, Paul Wayne Knight and Donald Edward Knight.
