Jimmie Ruth Morris ~ December 31, 1937 – January 17, 2023
Jimmie Ruth Morris, 85, of Bolivar, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at Christian Care Center in Bolivar.
Mrs. Morris was born Friday, December 31, 1937, in Bolivar, daughter of the late James Ernest Williams and Florence Hardee Haase. She married William. Edolan Morris on December 24, 1955, and he preceded her in death on March 18, 2003. Mrs. Morris was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, working with flowers, and going to yard sales, but held her greatest love for being around her children and grandchildren, who were her life. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Toone.
Services were at the Shackelford chapel in Bolivar on Thursday, January 19, 2023, at 3 p.m. with Charles Jeter officiating. Burial was in Ebenezer Cemetery near Toone.
Survivors include two sons, David Morris (Stacey) of Whiteville and Milton Ray Morris of Bolivar; a brother, Billy “Sonny” Williams of Jackson; four grandchildren, Deena, Jennifer, Jalynn, and William Morris; and one great grandchild, Aria Jones. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Mildred Fay Morris; her stepfather, William (Billy) Haase; and a sister, Bobbie Ann Cummings.
Memorial contributions in her name may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
