Kim Rixie ~ September 19, 1960 – November 20, 2023 (age 63)
Kim Rixie, 63, of Middleton, departed this life Monday, November 20, 2023, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
She was born Monday, September 19, 1960, in Shelby County, daughter of the late David J. Swanson and Barbara Ann Neveis Swanson, living in Shelby County until 2004 when she moved to Hardeman County. Kim graduated from Douglas High School and attended Shelby State Community College. She was a clerk/receptionist at Memphis State University, a homemaker, and worked as a payroll clerk at the Memphis State bookstore. Kim married James Howard Rixie on February 7, 1987, and was Presbyterian in faith, attending Porter’s Creek Baptist Church.
Church services will be at Porter’s Creek Baptist Church on Friday, November 24, 2023, at 2 p.m. with burial in Porter’s Creek Cemetery. Shackelford Funeral Directors of Bolivar is in charge of professional arrangements.
Survivors include her husband, James Howard Rixie; a sister, Lesslie Parnell of Millington; and eight nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions in her name may be sent to Porter’s Creek Baptist Church.
