Obituary: Lamavis Jerre Blaylock
LaMavis Jerre Blaylock was born on January 14, 1992, to Valerie Chism Blaylock and the late Marvis Lee Blaylock.
LaMavis accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Clover Chapel Baptist Church. She received her formal education at Bolivar Central High and continued her education at Lane College.
Jerre enjoyed singing and she had an angelic voice that stunned everyone who listened. She sang in the Bolivar Central High Choir, Lane College Choir, and numerous talent shows and weddings. Jerre blessed the city of Jackson, Tennessee in 2016 with the National Anthem at the Jackson General’s Stadium. She participated in beauty pageants and won “Miss Purple and Gold” at Lane College. Jerre also went to the Barbizon Modeling and Acting School.
Jerre’s memory will live in the heart of her devoted mother, Valerie of Toone, Tennessee; grandmother, Gladys of Toone, Tennessee; sisters, Marshandra “Candi” of Memphis, Tennessee, Latoya of Toone, Tennessee, Siobhan of Worcester, Massachusetts, and Shameka of Little Rock, Arkansas; brothers, Marlon of Bolivar, Tennessee, Shon of Memphis, Tennessee, Shaine, of Worcester, Massachusetts, Juanrico of Jackson, Tennessee; two special nieces, Rhianna and Justice; one special nephew, J’Mykel (all of whom she took care of as her own); her best friend, Mario; special friends, Kathy, Lane College-The Spot, Eshia, Jasmine, Marqweonna, Tanesha, and the men of Omega Psi Phi-Lane College; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation: Dixie Funeral Home in the Jerome Boyd Chapel, 750 Bills Street, Bolivar, Tennessee, 38008, on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Funeral Services: Clover Chapel Baptist Church, 710 Thomas Anderson Road, Toone, 38381, on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at 1 p.m.
