Obituary: Linda Cathy Chambers Owens

Linda Cathy Chambers Owens ~ June 25, 1959 – March 17, 2025 (age 65)

Linda Cathy Chambers Owens, age 65, resident of Moscow, Tennessee and wife of the late Frank Owens, departed this life Monday morning, March 17, 2025, at her home.

Cathy was born June 25, 1959, in Memphis, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Milton Leroy Chambers and Etna Mae Smith Chambers. She graduated from Rossville Academy in 1977 and was a dedicated friend to her group of classmates. Cathy was employed as a home healthcare aide and bank teller before her retirement and was a devoted caregiver to her parents. She was of the Baptist faith and loved animals, especially her pet raccoon and pet squirrel.

Mrs. Owens is survived by her uncle, David Smith (Bonnie) of Somerville, Tennessee; three stepdaughters, Christie Owens Cothren of Paragould, Arkansas, Chanda Owens Barker of Harrisburg, Arkansas, and Candice Owens of Memphis, Tennessee; four nieces, Miranda Chambers Clark (Jon) of Saulsbury, Tennessee, Meagan Chambers Lewis (Richard) of Memphis, Tennessee, Monica Chambers McElhone (Donny) of Grand Junction, Tennessee, and Michelle Chambers Harris (Jonathon) of Grand Junction, Tennessee; and a host of great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Larry Milton Chambers, and her beloved pet, Jack.

A visitation for Mrs. Owens will be held at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel on Monday, March 24, 2025, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. in Somerville. Funeral Services will be held at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel on Monday, March 24, 2025, at 2 p.m. in Somerville with Brother Tony Watkins officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Moscow, Tennessee.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Jacob Smith, Dylan Smith, Robert Owens, Donny McElhone, Richard Lewis, Jonathon Harris, and Caleb Watkins. Honorary pallbearers will be J.B. Chambers, John Chambers, Barry Owens, J.T. Owens, and Bruce Owens.

The family requests memorials be directed to Oak Grove Baptist Church, 1980 Oak Grove Drive, Moscow, Tennessee 38057.
