Obituary: Margaret Marie Robertson

Margaret Marie Robertson ~ April 27, 1951 ~ October 5, 2022 (age 71)

Margaret M. Robertson was born on April 27, 1951, to the Late Mr. Emmitt Lee William and the late Mrs. Idell Duncan Williams both of Hickory Valley, Tennessee.

Her funeral service was held on Saturday October 15, 2022, at Mt. Salem MB Church at 12 p.m. with Pastor Melvin Bufford in charge. Burial was in the church cemetery and Dixie Funeral Home was in charge of the professional service.

Margaret accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age and was baptized at Union Hill Baptist Church in Whiteville, Tennessee, and later in life joined the Mount Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Hickory Valley. She remained a faithful member until her health began to fail. On April 13, 1973, Margaret was joined in holy matrimony to George Robertson, and to this union four children were born, and after her divorce later in life another child was born.

Margaret attended Hardeman County Schools and worked in Hardeman Internal for over 20 years until it closed and then she was employed at Black and Decker in Jackson, Tennessee until she retired in 2011.

Early Wednesday morning on October 5, 2022, Margaret departed from her earthly body.

She is preceded in death by a son Earnest D. Williams (1972); four sisters, Dollie Oliver (2015), Dorothy Reaves Hayes (2003), Mary and Ethel Lee; four brothers, Richard Williams ( 1967 ), Fred Williams ( 201 ), Johnnie Williams (2016), and James Williams ( 2020).

Margaret perished from this life leaving precious memories for her loving children of four, Idell Robertson of Bolivar, Tennessee, Linda Robertson of Oakland, Tennessee, Deborah Robertson of Memphis, Tennessee, and Erica Polk of Jackson, Tennessee. She also leaves a grandson who she loved and raised as her child, DeShawn Robertson of Bolivar, Tennessee; eight sisters, Emma Williams and Virtia Williams of Bolivar, Tennessee, Helen Bolden and Crystal Parks of Jackson, Tennessee, Angela Williams of Memphis, Tennessee, Gloria (Bobby) Jones and Rosie Boyd of Whiteville, Tennessee; and three brothers, Jerry (Shelia) Williams of Whiteville, Tennessee and L.J. Williams of Memphis, Tennessee; two sisters-in-laws, Lois (James) Williams of Bolivar, Tennessee and Bessie (L.J.) Williams of Memphis, Tennessee; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews cousins, and special friends who helped her in so many ways when she needed them.
