Obituary: Mary Inez Fawcett Greene

Mary Inez Fawcett Greene, 95, of Silerton, passed from this life Monday, June 16, 2025, at Pine Meadows Healthcare.
Mrs. Stack was a native and life-long resident of Silerton, and the daughter of the late A. E. and Elsie Gertie Beshires Fawcett. She received her education at Silerton before marrying Marshall L. Greene who departed this life on December 15, 1999.
Mrs. Stack retired from Kilgore (now Chemring) following 34 years of service. In years past, she attended Piney Grove Baptist Church. Among her varied interests, she liked gardening, flowers, sewing, needle point, and going to yard sales and thrift stores. She spent many hours enjoying her favorite television programs which included “Gunsmoke” and “Magnum, P. I.”. Over the years, she had many beloved pet dogs and exemplified southern hospitality with her cooking skills especially at holiday time and was known to offer company a home-cooked meal before they were to leave.
Services will be held at Shackelford Funeral Directors on Monday, June 23, 2025, at 3 p.m. in Bolivar with the burial in the Wesley Cemetery.
She leaves her daughter, Carolyn King of Bolivar; four grandchildren, Christopher Wayne (Mary) King, Jason Brett (Danielle) King, Karen “Kay” Elaine Stack, and Shannon Greene; three great-grandchildren, Jolie King, Jalyssa King, and Michelle Green; and one great-great-grandchild, Braxton Wilbanks.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Marsha Elaine Greene; a son, James Odell Greene; a granddaughter, Teresa Lynn Stack; a brother, Odell Fawcett; and a half-brother, Alton Fawcett.
Memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
