Obituary: Mary Louise Davis
Mary Louise Davis ~ May 29, 1930 – May 6, 2023
Mary Louise Davis departed this life on Saturday morning, May 6, 2023, at Pine Meadows Healthcare Center in Bolivar where she had been a resident for 12 years and was loved by the entire staff.
The daughter of the late Jessie A. Marshall and Ollie Bell Doyle Marshall, Mary Louise was a lifetime resident of Hardeman County. She was educated here and, on October 2, 1948, married Carl Gene Davis. He passed away June 17, 2001. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Carl, Olian, Roy, and Edward; and three sisters, Graple Samantha, Marshall Howell, Gracie Downen, and Virginia Johnson.
Mrs. Davis was a faithful member of the Middleton Church of Christ. There, she taught third and fourth grade Sunday School for 50 years. She was a retired salesclerk from Walmart and, in her leisure time, enjoyed sewing and tending to the flowers in her yard.
Services were at Shackelford Funeral Home in Middleton on Monday May 8, 2023, at 1 p.m. with Jeff Scott officiating. Burial was in Reaves Cemetery near Middleton.
Mrs. Davis leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews and, her close friend, Kathy Pulse (Marion) of Middleton.
