Obituary: Mary Sue Emerson Vincent
Mary Sue Emerson Vincent was born in Bolivar, Tennessee on January 25, 1929, to William and Carrie Emerson. On Thursday, August 1, 2025, she went to be with Jesus, her Savior. Sue lived most of her life in Bolivar but spent the last 14 years in Northern Kentucky and Georgia.
Sue was a beloved family member and friend. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 57 Years, Marvin; and siblings, Joan Krohn, Betty Emerson, Jane Jones, Dan Emerson, and Tommy Emerson. Sue is survived by one sibling, Joyce Ray.
Graveside services will be at Union Cemetery on Friday, August 9, 2025, at 11 a.m. Visitation is will be at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Bolivar on Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 am.
Sue had two children, Susan (Bob) and Debbie (Greg) and four grandchildren, Jennifer, Julie (Keith), Justin, and Blake. Sue was employed for many years with Bolivar High School and Middle School. Sue enjoyed being a part of the local DAR chapter and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Bolivar.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to First Baptist Church of Bolivar.
