Obituary: Matilda Dijon Howard
Matilda Dijon Howard was born on June 26,1993. She was the baby of the bunch.
She was called to her eternal home on May 16, 2024. and will be missed by all who knew her.
Matilda accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Medon, Tennessee.
She attended Bolivar Central High School where she graduated in 2011. Matilda continued her studies at Jackson State Community College as she began working for Madison-Haywood Developmental Services for many years thereafter until her health began to fail.
Matilda was a loving daughter, sister, and aunt. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends with that big contagious smile of hers that she exuded every time you saw her.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Cynthia Sain; her grandparents, Carrie Wooden and Eziekel Crisp, and Leslie Howard, Jr., and her maternal grandparents, Matilda and John Albert Dubose and Leslie and Fannie Howard. Matilda leaves to cherish her memories her loving and devoted parents, Diane and Leslie William Howard III; four brothers, Lawrence (Tank) Sain of Nashville, Tennessee, Difrederico “Toby” Sain of Bolivar, Tennessee, Dennis (Mack) Blaylock of Jackson, Tennessee, and Leslie William “Will” Howard-Moreno, IV (Gabriel) of Chicago, Illinois; her only nephew, Christian “Quan” Sain; and her only niece, Santana Blaylock; her grandmother, Sarah Ray Long of Bolivar, Tennessee; and a host of aunts and uncles, cousins, and friends, and her special pet, Rondo.
Visitation: Dixie Funeral Home in the Jerome Boyd Chapel, 750 Bills Street, Bolivar, Tennessee, 38008, on Friday, May 24, 2024, from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Funeral Services: Greater Springfield Missionary Baptist Church, 407 South Madison Street, Bolivar, Tennessee 38008, on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at 12 p.m.
