Obituary: Rodger Dale Doles
Rodger Dale Doles, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at AHC Healthcare in, Humboldt, Tennessee. Born on October 26, 1957, in Nashville, Tennessee, Rodger brought joy and warmth to every life he touched. He was a member of his community and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Rodger graduated from Bolivar Central High School in the class of 1975. He found fulfillment throughout his career working at Service Merchandise, Office Max, and PETCO, all located in Jackson, Tennessee. At PETCO, he developed a special bond with his colleagues, forming a work family that he adored and valued immensely. His colleagues will remember him not only for his incredible work ethic but also for his infectious smile and the affection he shared with everyone.
In addition to his professional life, Rodger found joy in his hobbies. He was an avid fan of Pink Floyd. One of his greatest joys was country line dancing, a pursuit that allowed him to express himself and connect with others who shared his love for the community it fostered. Rodger’s joy in life was evident in the way he engaged with people; he loved everybody he met, and that love was reciprocated in abundance.
Rodger’s family was an integral part of his life. He leaves behind his brothers, Jerry Doles of Selmer, David Doles and Barbara of Middleton, and Jackie Doles and Diane of Nashville. He also had many nephews, nieces, and cousins who will carry fond memories of him. Rodger was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Doles, mother Geraldine Doles, and his sisters, Dora Doles of Henderson and Barbara Allen of Middleton. The legacy of love and kindness that Rodger imparted to his family will continue to live on through their cherished memories.
Services will be at the Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel one Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at 11 a.m. in Bolivar. This day will be a testament to the life Rodger lived – one filled with love, laughter, and spirit that will forever remain in our hearts. Rodger Doles may have left this earth, but the memories, and the love he shared will resonate within us always. Memorial contributions in his name may be sent to PETCO.
