Susan Ragan ~ September 16, 1954 – December 9, 2023, (age 69)

Susan Ragan, a loving homemaker, passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2023, in Jackson, Tennessee. She was born on September 16, 1954, in Clarksville, Tennessee. Susan’s life was filled with joy and love, and her warm presence will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Susan’s career spanned various roles, from being a dedicated homemaker to working at Atlantis Plastics in production and quality control. She approached every task she undertook with unwavering commitment and meticulous attention to detail. Her hard work and dedication were evident to all who worked alongside her.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Susan had a rich tapestry of interests and hobbies that brought immense happiness into her life. She particularly enjoyed spending quality time with her husband, Doyle Ragan. Together, they embarked on countless adventures, exploring new places and creating memories that will forever be cherished.

An exceptionally social individual, Susan had an extensive circle of friends whom she held dear. She relished the opportunity to connect with others and was always the life of the party. Her joyful spirit and genuine interest in others endeared her to everyone around her.

Susan was preceded in death by her father, George Blanchard, and mother, Belva Drapper Turner. She also was preceded in death by all of her dear brothers and sisters who meant the world to her.

Susan is survived by her adoring husband, Doyle Ragan, who stood beside her through thick and thin. They married on September 14, 1996, in New Union Baptist Church, after knowing each other over 40 years. Their bond was one forged by love and mutual respect that only grew stronger over the years.

She also leaves behind a loving daughter, Sheelah Blanchard of Jackson, as well as several cherished grandchildren, Brittani Blanchard, Shaina “Kaye” Brooks, DeAngelo Corder, and Santo Brooks. In addition to these precious souls who hold Susan’s memory close to their hearts, there is also Santino “Kaye” Brooks, her great-grandchild.

Susan’s life was filled with joy, love, and unwavering dedication to her family and friends. Her legacy will shine brightly in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her, and her memory will continue to inspire us all to embrace life wholeheartedly. Shackelford Funeral Directors of Bolivar is in charge of professional arrangements.
