Obituary: Tommy Sasser – Bolivar, Tennessee
Tommy Sasser ~ November 22, 1945 – November 2, 2022
Tommy Sasser, 76, of Bolivar, passed from this life Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at his home in Bolivar. He was born November 22, 1945, in Middleton, son of the late Walter Bell Sasser, Jr. and Lorraine Bishop Sasser, living all of his life in Hardeman County.
He worked for his family at Sasser Oil Company, owning it himself since 1969, and enjoyed working. Mr. Sasser was a family man, loving to talk to anyone, and especially enjoyed working on his farm. A US Army veteran, he loved living life to the fullest, shooting target practice, watching Ole Miss football, and traveling. Mr. Sasser was a member of Bolivar First Baptist Church.
Private family memorial services will be held at a later date. Shackelford Funeral Directors of Bolivar were in charge of professional arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Retta Sasser, whom he married on June 25, 1997, in Las Vegas; two daughters, Susan Davis (Justin) of Tupelo, Mississippi and Paige Keith (Jason) of Jackson; a son, Tommy Breeden (Kerri Ann) of Grand Junction; two brothers, Walter Bell Sasser, III of Seattle, Washington and Charles Sasser of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; three sisters, Annette Ashley of Santa Barbara, California, Rebecca Sasser and Anita Campbell of Sammamish, Washington; five grandchildren, Cooper Davis, Maggie Davis, Kayla McDowell (Cameron), Remington Breeden, and Isabella Reid; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joel Sasser.
Memorial contributions in his name may be sent to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
