Obituary: Vick Miller Jones

Vick Miller Jones ~ June 19, 1952 ~ December 31, 2022 (age 70)

Mr. Vick Miller Jones Sr. was born June 19, 1952, in Hardeman County (Bolivar, Tennessee) to the late Thomas E. and Alberta Jones of Toone, Tennessee. Vick departed this walk of life on Saturday, December 31, 2022, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. 

His funeral service was held at the Dixie Funeral Home on Saturday January 7, 2023, at 12 p.m. with Pastor Terry Popular in charge. Burial was in the Hillfield Missionary Baptist Church cemetery and Dixie Funeral Home was in charge of the professional service.

Vick graduated from Bolivar Industrial and went onto enlist in the United States Army. He professed Christ at a young age. Vick was an active member at Hillfield Baptist Church until his health begin to fail.

Vick worked several different places in his life time. His last and most recent employment was Hardeman County Highway Department where he retired from in January 2018. Although he retired, Vick continued to work and serve his family, friends, and community doing what he loves to do, which was being a mechanic.

Vick leaves to cherish his memory a wife of 48 years of marriage, Shirley Jones, of Medon, Tennessee; three children, Toinette Jones (Medon, Tennessee), Vick Jones Jr. (Shalanda Jones) Jackson, Tennessee, and Michael Jones Sr. (Yonakura Jones) Bolivar, Tennessee. He leaves five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren; three sisters,  Mrs. Mattie Hunter (Mansfield, Ohio), Mrs. Mae (Frankie) March of Medon, Tennessee, and Mrs. Linda Rivers (Toone Tennessee); five brothers,  Mr. James (Mary Jean) Jones of Toone, Tennessee, Mr. Roy (Martha) Jones Bolivar, Tennessee,  Mr. Larry (Marilyn) Jones Denmark, Tennessee, Mr. Phillip (Gloria) Jones Toone, Tennessee, and Mr. Lyndon (Brenda) Jones Sr. of Bolivar, Tennessee; and a host of nieces;, nephews;, cousins; and other relatives and friends.
