Obituary: Viola Campbell

Viola Campbell ~ February 28, 1932 – May 21, 2024 (age 92)

Viola Campbell, beloved homemaker and former production worker for Kilgore Corporation in Toone, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, in Bolivar, Tennessee. She was born on February 28, 1932, in Haywood County, Tennessee.

Viola was a dedicated mother who poured her love into her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-children. Her kind nurturing personality touched the lives of all who knew her.

In her time, Viola found joy in tending to her yard and flowers. She also liked to visit the mountains and riding along the Natchez Trace Parkway. Connecting with friends and family brought her much happiness.

Viola is preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Leon Campbell, Sr., as well as her parents, Bonnie and Ethel Brown Creasy. She is also reunited with her sisters, Elizabeth Sanders, Thelma Spencer, Lena Whittemore, and Eva Wilson; granddaughter, Monica Yopp, and daughter-in-law, Sheila Campbell.

She is survived by her daughters, Francine Tranum (Johnny) of Middleton, Sharllene Campbell of Bolivar, and Brenda Hickman (Roy) of Selmer; sons, Leon Campbell (Sharon) of Middleton, Michael Campbell of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, and Jerry Campbell of Middleton; brother, Floyd Creasy of Haywood County; twelve grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Services to honor and celebrate Viola’s life will be held at the chapel of Shackelford Funeral Directors in Bolivar on Friday, May 24, 2024, at 2 p.m. The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The interment will be in Bolivar Memorial Cemetery.

Viola Campbell will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family and the warmth she brought to those around her. May she rest in peace knowing she was cherished by many.
