Obituary: Virginia Jimmerson
Virginia Jimmerson was born April 2, 1940 to the late Eugene Ellison, Sr. and Ethel Mae Ellison.
Her funeral service will be held at Clover Chapel Missionary Baptist Church on Sunday December 22, 2024, at 12 p.m. with Pastor George Beauregard in charge. The burial will be in the Jimmerson Cemetery and Dixie Funeral Home is in charge of the professional service.
Virginia attended Hardeman County Schools. She was employed at Toone Elementary School for 30 years and was also employed at Lucerne and Kilgore.
Virginia accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and joined Clover Chapel Baptist Church. She later became the cafeteria manager and was on the mother board ministry until her health declined. Virginia was a very loyal, loving, and nurturing mother, grandmother, and friend to many.
Virginia was united in Holy Matrimony to Clovis Jimmerson, Sr. in 1958.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene Ellison, Sr. and Ethel Mae Ellison; her husband, Clovis Jimmerson, Sr.; one son, Leon Jimmerson; two daughters, Gloria Mayer and Sharon Jimmerson; one grandson, Cortez Jimmerson; and one brother, David Ellison.
Virginia leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Daphne (Michael) Gibbs; one son, Clovis (Ginger) Jimmerson, Jr.; eleven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; four of her siblings, Eugene (Lorean) Ellison, Jr., Helen Pirtle, Osevelt Ellison, and Carolyn Tomlin; and many other relatives and friends who will truly miss her.
