Obituary: Wayne Sterling – Toone, Tennessee
Wayne Sterling, age 75 of Toone, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at Pine Meadows Healthcare Center in Bolivar, Tennessee. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 13, at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Bolivar. Visitation will begin at 12 p.m. before the service and burial will follow the service at Cave Springs Cemetery in Henderson, Tennessee.
Wayne Sterling was born on April 12, 1947, to Luther Wilson Sterling and Hazel Florine Simer Sterling in Hardmen County, Tennessee. In 1995, he married Linda Holmes Sterling (d. 2019). He retired from Kilgore, Inc. after 30 plus years working in maintenance. Mr. Sterling was a member of the NRA, and loved fishing, hunting, family, and was always doing something outside. Mr. Sterling served in the US Army.
He is survived by a daughter, Tammy Pittman (Ronnie) of Whiteville, Tennessee; a stepdaughter, Sandy Gee of Selmer, Tennessee; two sons, Joseph Wayne Sterling, Jr.(Vikki) of Whiteville, Tennessee, and Jeremy Brett Sterling(Kristi) of Jackson, Tennessee; a stepson, Jeffrey Gee of Henderson, Tennessee; a sister, Linda Cross of Bolivar, Tennessee; and a brother, Donald Sterling of Jackson, Tennessee.
Mr. Sterling is preceded in death by his parents, Luther Wilson Sterling and Hazel Florine Simer Sterling; his wife, Linda Holmes Sterling; and a brother, Ellis Sterling.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
