Obituary: William Glenn “Polar Bear” Russell
William Glenn “Polar Bear” Russell, of Middleton, departed this life on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. He was 64 years, three months, and 12 days of age.
Born to the late Simmie Lee Russell and Virgil Abigail Durham Russell, Mr. Russell was a retired fork-lift driver for Thyssen-Krupp Elevator in Middleton where he worked for 30 years. On October 28, 1983, he married Vickie Denise McKee, who survives and, was a member of Porter’s Creek Baptist Church. He was a life-long resident of Hardeman County and enjoyed fishing in his spare time.
In addition to his wife of over 40 years, he leaves his daughter, Brittney Russell of Luxora, Arkansas; his son, Cameron Russell of Middleton; two sisters, Pansy Baker of Bolivar and Pat (Mickey) Young of Alamo, Tennessee; and two brothers, Roy (Satha) Russell of Ocala, Florida and Johnny Russell of Middleton.
He was preceded in death, also, by a sister, Janny Russell; and a brother, Michael Russell.
Graveside services will be at Porters Creek Cemetery on Friday, July 12, at 11 a.m. in Middleton, Tennessee. Shackelford Funeral Directors of Bolivar is in charge of professional arrangements.
