Obituary: William Lyndon “Lynn” Odom
William Lyndon “Lynn” Odom, Sr., age 64, resident of Hickory Valley, Tennessee, departed this life early Thursday morning, November 28, 2024, at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
Lynn was born August 23, 1960, in Memphis, the son of William Nobel Odom, Jr. and the late Margaret Ann Minton Odom. He graduated from Harding Academy in Memphis and was employed as a boiler operator at St. Francis Hospital for over 42 years. He was a mentor to many of his coworkers. Lynn was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, horses, and working on cars.
Mr. Odom is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Harrigan (Blake); his son, Will Odom (Abby); his father, William Nobel Odom, Jr.; his brother, Kevin Odom; and three grandchildren, Maggie Odom, John Bradley German, and Thomas German. He also leaves his dog, Shorty and three horses, Stormy, Dee, and Junior.
A visitation for Mr. Odom will be held at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel on Thursday, December 5, 2024, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. in Oakland. Funeral Services will be held at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at 2 p.m. in Oakland with Jim Hinkle, a Church of Christ minister, officiating. Interment will follow in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Will Odom, John Bradley German, Thomas German, Kevin Odom, Patrick Odom, Jeremy Odom, Dale Perkins, Daniel Jacobs, and Richard Walker.
