Open Air on the Square Returns to Downtown Bolivar
More than 800 people came out to enjoy good music, a variety of foods, and “Greek Love Alumni Social” at the opening of the seventh annual Open Air on the Square Summer Concert Series that was held in Downtown Bolivar on Saturday, June 8, 2024. Since its inception, Open Air on the Square has grown in popularity and attendance.
“Open Air was created to attract a regional audience and offers new genres to Bolivar’s music scene,” said Ken Griggs, who organizes the Open Air concert series. “Open Air has grown into a popular event that is attracting live music fans from across the region.”
The party started in the early evening at 6 p.m. with the Greek Alumni Social. The music continued with headliner Bird Williams and the evening closed out by midnight with attendees enjoying the Open Air Block Party. Mr. Griggs shared a special highlight from the evening.
“Seeing all of the supporters after seven months and the Members of the Divine 9 Organizations Retreating to Bolivar for the second year,” said Mr. Griggs.
The next Open Air event will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024, and will feature Jerome Chisholm out of Memphis.
