Representative Gant Announces $630K Grant to Build a New Fire Station-Emergency Services Complex in Fayette County

State Representative Ron Gant has announced $930,000 in grants for community development projects in Fayette County from the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development (TNECD).

Fayette County received a $630,000 Community Development Block Grant (CDGB) for an emergency management and fire station project and Gallaway received a $300,000 CDGB for sewer system improvements.

“These grants are going to really help this community,” Gant said. “Emergency management and sewer systems are essential services, and this money will improve both in Fayette County. I thank everyone involved in applying for the grants and TNECD for their work allocating the funds.”

Fayette County will use its grant to build a new fire station-emergency services complex. Gallaway’s funds will be used to address inflow and infiltration in the city’s sewer collection system.

TNECD approved $36.6 million in grants to 78 communities across the state for projects in categories including public health and safety, community infrastructure, community revitalization, water system improvements, and sewer system improvements.
