Roger Clifton Announces Candidacy for County Clerk

I am Roger Clifton, and I am pleased to announce my candidacy for Hardeman County Clerk, as a republican. With nearly 15 years of experience at Toyota Motor Manufacturing, I have developed a strong background in leadership, having held multiple positions focused on quality, efficiency, and accountability. My responsibilities have encompassed solving complex problems, overseeing daily operations, developing team members, and ensuring consistent achievement of performance and budget goals while providing exceptional service to our customers, where we manufacture the world’s top-selling car, the Toyota Corolla.

I was elected by my colleagues to serve on the TMAA (Toyota board), where we engaged with the community, focusing on morale and I have collaborated with government and local officials. These experiences have prepared me to effectively manage an office, lead a team, and ensure the citizens of Hardeman County receive efficient, responsive, and accountable service.

I firmly believe that public service should be built on strong leadership, clear communication, and a commitment to doing what is right for the people. From day one, I pledge to operate with honesty, openness, and complete transparency for the citizens of our county. I am committed to improving the quality of service and care provided by the County Clerk’s office and ensuring it operates with the professionalism and efficiency our community expects and deserves. I also believe there are opportunities to expand and improve services offered through the County Clerk’s office, making government more convenient and accessible for our citizens. I will work from day one to explore ways to bring additional services closer to home, so residents don’t have to travel long distances for basic needs. This could include services such as driver’s license renewals, more accessible vehicle registration services, streamlined tag renewal options, and exploring additional online or in-office services that make everyday transactions quicker and easier for our community. Also, I will look into offering extended service hours or Saturday office hours for those who may have difficulty accessing services during regular weekday hours so the office is more convenient and assessable to our citizens.

If you believe Hardeman County deserves strong leadership, a voice that listens to the needs of its people, and an office grounded in honesty and integrity, I humbly request your vote and support. Together, we can build a better future for Hardeman County.
