The Bolivar Dive Team along with other first responder agencies participated in a multi-agency training exercise this past Saturday, August 6, at Sand Beach Lake.

Sand Beach Lake is the newest park in the City of Bolivar Parks and Recreation system. The park encompasses a total of 122 acres and the lake itself is approximately 70 acres.

“While we hope and pray that our unit is never deployed to an incident at Sand Beach Lake, it is vital that we are trained and properly prepared for an emergency,” said Bolivar Dive Team Officer Rory White.

“With the addition of Sand Beach Lake in our jurisdiction, it is imperative that we train with our neighboring jurisdictions in multi-agency response scenarios frequently and in scenarios that are realistic to our respective jurisdictions,” said Bolivar Dive Team Officer Chris Wilkerson.

The Bolivar Dive Team participates routinely in both training scenarios and emergency call-outs with other agencies. Multiple agencies including Hardeman EMA, Fayette EMA, MedCenter EMS, Hardeman County EMS, Hardeman County Sheriff’s office, Hardin County Fire Department and Dive, Hardeman County RESCUE Squad, Bolivar Police Department, Bolivar Fire Department Bolivar Dive Team, and Braden Fire Department Water Unit participated in training on Saturday.
