It has been 30 years since the Middleton High School (MHS) basketball boys team played together and beat the East Robertson Eagles to win the 1992 Class A State Championship. It was a great win for the players as well as Coach Larry Smalley who had started coaching basketball at MHS in 1985.

So, where are those players and coaches now? That is what MHS Basketball Coach James Burkley wants to know, because he would like to recognize those players and coaches who brought home the state championship.

“We like to recognize former players and coaches, and this year it is the 1992 boys basketball team,” said Coach Burkley. “We are having a recognition night for the 1992 state championship team and coaches on November 21, 2022. The community is also invited to come out and celebrate with MHS.”

Coach Smalley has already committed to attending the 30 year recognition event and hopes many former players and coaches are also able to attend.
