Senator Marsha Blackburn Visits with Local Leaders at Lone Oaks Farm

United States Senator Marsha Blackburn recently visited with local leaders at Lone Oaks Farm. Blackburn was able to see first hand the new 4-H facilities being constructed and Ford Motor’s contributions through their stream restoration project.

“During my visit, local leaders shared with me how their most recent efforts will help the Volunteer State realize its full potential,” Blackburn said, “Ford Motors’ contributions will support Lone Oaks Farm’s ongoing work to encourage future generations to champion environmental stewardship through the pursuit of STEM and agriculture careers. Public-private partnerships, like the one at Lone Oaks Farm, are a critical part of our state’s long-term success.”

Earlier this year, Ford Motor Company and the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture signed a stream mitigation and restoration agreement that will restore the stream waters flowing through the University’s Lone Oaks Farm. You may read more about the stream restoration project.
