Senator Walley Receives “Champion of Children” Award from Children’s Advocacy Centers of Tennessee

State Senator Page Walley has received the “Champion of Children” award from the Children’s Advocacy Centers of Tennessee (CACTN) for passing legislation that supports children across the state.

“I’m honored to receive this award,” said Walley. “I deeply value children’s advocacy centers and will continue to do all I can to support their important work.”

Walley supported legislation that appropriated $5 million to the fiscal year 2023 state budget to help fund the 52 children’s advocacy centers in the state.

CACTN is a statewide membership organization dedicated to helping communities through local and child advocacy centers and by responding to allegations of child abuse in ways that are effective and efficient – and that put the needs of child victims first. A child advocacy center is the one place that provides a safe, child-friendly environment where law enforcement, child protective services, prosecution, and medical and mental health professionals can share information and develop effective, coordinated strategies sensitive to the needs of each unique case and child.
